With 690m length and 190m width, it is long in shape and was occupied by South Vietnam in 1973. After the reunification of Vietnam in 1975, it has been a Vietnamese-occupied island up to today.

In 2016, a set of radar antenna was built in the west of the island.

In 2018, the radar antenna was upgraded with a radome.
