Nanwei Island(Spratly Island)

Nanwei Island(Spratly Island), which lies in the southwest of Yinqing Qunjiao(London Reefs) of Nansha Islands(the Spratly Islands), was invaded by South Vietnam in 1974 and occupied by Vietnam since its reunification. It is of a triangle pattern, 1350m long, 550m wide, and lies from northeast to southwest.

Since 2015, Vietnam has started further reclamation, which has reached an area of over 0.15km2. Meanwhile, the runway has been enlarged, and facilities such as a harbor basin, a wharf, a 111, a radar, 111 and barracks have been built.
